Estate Sale Treasure!

We were all over the place yesterday.  One of our first stops was an estate sale in the Uptown in Richland where I found this little beauty.  It's an st 1000 Super 8 camera.

Some of you may know that I am sort of a video hobbyist, however I have never even held one of these before.  Never the less, I am very intrigued by the whole idea of it.  I think it will be so cool to have a movie made on real film!  I have seen some work people have done  using them and I just think it is so neat.

I have been learning a lot about it since I bought it.  There are still some places that you can order film online and send it in to get developed.  It's going to cost a little money to do, but I really want to at least try it out.  I am really excited about this.

Light Fixtures for a Dollar Each!

I can't believe my luck yesterday at the Lowes!  They are clearancing out all their light fixtures and are pretty much giving them away.  I scored these three beauties for a grand total of $ 3.25 with tax.

They are negotiating prices on them because they really want them gone.  Also, the floor models are cheaper, however they do have a ton of stuff still in boxes as well.

This Chandelier is going in my room.

We have been needing a new light in the hallway.  As you can see the on on the left is the new one and the one on the right is our current hall light.

And this is going in the living room

That is total saving of more than 100 dollars.

Making Pillows

I have been gradually working on making over my room for the past few months.  Before, I had this dreadful dark brown walls (which unfortunately I had picked out for myself).  However, I finally did something about it and since then I have been working on spicing things up a bit.

I fixed up the painting that you saw in the previous post.  And  today I made some pillows out of a pattern that I followed at http://www.cluckclucksew.com/2008/09/petal-pillow-tutorial.html.

While I am at it I'll show you how it all looks together in the room so far.

Before and After: Green Painting

This was a picture that I picked up at a thrift store a while back for dirt cheap.  I like the picture, but the green was a bit excessive.  Also, it didn't quite fit in with my style so I decided to jazz it up a little bit.

I threw on some pink spray paint last night and this is what i got:

Practicing Photoshop

I just installed photoshop on my computer today.  I know a few very basic things and have been reading a book I got from the library called 500 Photoshop Hins, tips, and Techniques.  This is what I came up with as I was practicing. The original is below.
