Look! I Won!

I never win anything.  So I was very suprised to find out that I won our library's adult summer reading contest.  Whenever you read a book you turn in a summary/review paper and then you choose a category to put your paper in.  At the end they had a drawing and I won the adventure category so as you can see it has a lot of books about survival and such.  I am very excited! 

Weekened Traveling

These are some pictures that we took at Soda Lake in the Columbia National Wildlife Refuge.  We took a fun little drive around before we went boating at Potholes with family.

Movie Project

Here's a movie I put together of our trip last weekend to Boulder Cave.  I did the editing in Adobe Premier Pro CS5 and the effects in Adobe After Effects. 

Boulder Cave

On Saturday we took the kiddies to Boulder Cave.  I always went there with my family growing up and it is fun to bring my family back there.  As you can see my little buddy was a trooper there and walked the whole way which was nearly 2 miles round trip. I held him just for a minute as we went through the darkest part of the cave. 

National Night Out

Last night we all went to the National Night Out at the park.  It promoted staying off drugs and was an opportunity to get to know more about some of the city services like the fire department and the library.  It was complete with free hot dogs and pop.

We were a little scared of the bouncy houses until right at the end.

Bedroom Redo

This past week we've been helping my sister with some of her house projects.  This is a picture of my husband (haven't thought of a clever nickname yet)  helping to install some beadboard and chair rail molding. 

Antique Fair

On Saturday we all went antiquing at the annual antique fair at Jefferson Park and I picked up these scarves for a future project. They haven't been ironed and you can tell.  I am not certain yet, what I'm going to do with them.  I am thinking of maybe making some throw pillows for my couch while I a m on this pillow kick.  I'll keep you posted on what I end up doing. .
